Ranchi (Jharkhand) — Dr. Srikanth Chennupati, Founder and National President of the Human Rights Council for India (HRCI), emphasized that safeguarding human rights is a collective social responsibility, urging citizens and civil society to actively advocate for the marginalized.

Dr. Chennupati made these remarks while addressing a key leadership assembly in Ranchi, Jharkhand, as part of his extensive official tour across North India.

Legal Literacy as a Shield for Human Rights

Addressing the delegation, Dr. Chennupati reiterated HRCI’s steadfast commitment to delivering justice to victims of abuse and defending vulnerable communities. He emphasized that widespread legal literacy is vital for individuals to recognize violations and assert their constitutional rights effectively.

“True empowerment begins with awareness. When citizens understand the law, they are equipped to defend their rights and resist exploitation,” Dr. Chennupati stated.

Addressing Grassroots Grievances

The conference saw extensive participation from Jharkhand state delegates and key representatives from across the North Zone. Members briefed the National President on localized challenges, ground-level human rights infringements, and strategic measures needed to reinforce the organization’s outreach.

Responding constructively to the representations made by members, Dr. Chennupati assured actionable intervention:

Administrative Liaison: Committed to engaging directly with relevant government authorities to expedite the resolution of localized disputes.

Legal Redressal: Promised full organizational support to pursue legal action on behalf of victims wherever warranted.

Organizational Unity: Urged all council members to operate with dedication, integrity, and inter-cadre coordination to advance the mission of human dignity.

The assembly concluded with senior leadership from the North Zone, Jharkhand state committee executives, and key grassroots coordinators reaffirming their commitment to human rights advocacy.
